EVERY chainsaw operator knows that a sharp saw is an efficient and, hopefully, safe saw. But manual sharpening can be time consuming.

Spaldings has come up with a bench-mounted alternative to the hand file which, it says, reduces saw sharpening time by 50% when compared to manual sharpening.

Claimed to be fully adjustable to ensure the perfect sharpening angle for any chain type, the motorised sharpener is priced at £289 (01522-500600).
