Fischler on the rack over CAP reforms

Franz Fischler, the European Unions farm commissioner, was grilled by the press yesterday on the proposed reforms of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)>.

He was quizzed about CAP finance, consumer prices, intensive versus non-intensive types of beef production and the lack of a role for environmentally friendly farming.
