Food campaign focuses on Advanta

THE Daily Express Safe Food Campaign focuses on findings that genetically modified pollen can travel 80 times further than the UKs 50m buffer zone.

Advanta Seeds, the company which unknowingly sold GM-contaminated oilseed rape to hundreds of farmers, made the admission to MPs earlier this month.

The House of Commons Agricultural Select Committee heard that seed from a conventional crop was probably contaminated by a GM crop 2.5 miles away.

The admission, by Advanta Seeds UK, means the risk of genetic pollution could be far greater than all but the most ardent eco-warriors feared, says the Express.
