Four sprays worth £70/ha more, according to ProCam

Analysis of ProCam’s 4Cast agronomy database has revealed using four well-timed fungicide sprays has lifted output on average by about 0.5t/ha over a basic two-spray triazole programme, the firm says.
That could be worth over £70/ha at current wheat prices.
Last year a one-spray fungicide programme yielded 6.01t/ha, a two-spray programme 8.67t/ha, while four sprays lifted output to 9.15t/ha, Nick Myers says.
With over half of the wheat varieties in the ground susceptible to septoria, which is looking like the priority disease this year, it is not the year to take shortcuts with fungicides, he warns.
