A NEW requirement by the Pesticides Safety Directorate for extra data on rotation effects means a promising new blight fungicide is unlikely to be available to UK growers in time for this season.
Fenomadone, marketed in a mancozeb mix as Sereno in France, offers a new mode of action for blight control. Grower response to the stepwise improvement in control has been very good across the Channel, said Aventis potato fungicide manager Bill Lankford. *
