Geest to source salad in France

GEEST, the prepared foods group, will spend FF167 million (£16m) on sourcing leafy salads from France with the acquisition of Cinquieme Saison.

Geest will pay FF37m up front with the rest in two years, dependent on the performance of the Lyons-based supplier.

Geests prepared food operations on the Continent are currently based in the Benelux countries.
