Genus fights on for VDC

GENUS, the cattle breeding and agricultural consultancy, has vowed to continue its hostile takeover bid for animal healthcare company VDC.

Genus made the decision after VDC unveiled a proposed merger with animal feed and chemicals group Lawrence.

VDC launched an ambitious £30.8 million bid for Lawrence after rejecting the Genus bid which valued VDC at £20.7m.
