‘Global warming more trouble than CAP’
GLOBAL warming could cause farmers more anxiety than reform of the Common Agricultural Policy, a crops specialist has warned.
David Cranstoun, of the Scottish Agricultural College, said that increasingly extreme weather across Scotland made him feel acutely uncomfortable.
He said it was “far more worrying” than the European farming reforms.
Dr Cranstoun said the political and market factors affecting the profitability of different crops and varieties, made suiting varieties to conditions even more vital.
