THERE was a very dull start to the week, with UK, US and French markets quiet. Algeria cancelled a spot tender for 50,000t of French wheat on Friday, but may look to purchase this week.

Hungarian wheat futures were down as some predict the Danube blockage may halt the bulk of exports for the rest of 1999.
