Grain market update

Wednesday 4 March

UK FOB prices are now in line with other European export prices but without a buyer. March export prices look reasonable but from April on look bleak. New crop wheat still finds the odd consumer buyer but there is little farmer selling.

Chicago finished 1¢/bushel lower as market ran out of steam.

  • £1=DM 2.988 / FFr 10.018 / $ 1.652
  • French FOB spot wheat value: FFr 830.0 (£ 82.85)
  • Chicago December wheat at close: $3.28 (£ 71.47)
