LIVESTOCK GRAZING influences foraging behaviour of farmland birds, so assessing grazing system is critical to prevent population decline.

To help sustain populations, Dave Buckingham of RSPB proposed that grazing systems must provide exploitation of swards at appropriate times.

 “Paddock grazing, strip grazing and continuous stocking provide ideal solutions in contrast to silage fields where suitable conditions are only available for a few days after each cut.”
