Green Scots MP alleges GM gag

ROBIN HARPER, a Green member of the Scottish parliament, has alleged that his calls for a moratorium on genetically modified (GM) crops are being suppressed.

Mr Harper, who was speaking after he had proposed a motion on the subject, accused the parliaments business bureau of trying to suppress his calls.

The motion had been removed from a list at the last moment ahead of tomorrows resumption, he said.

Mr Harpers motion called on the parliament to recognise widespread opposition to growing GM crops and to initiate legislation for a moratorium.
