Guide to best agriculture courses

THE best institutions for taking a degree in agriculture in the UK are Nottingham University and Harper Adams, claims a national newspaper.

But the guide produced by The Independent rates Newcastle, Cranfield, Plymouth and Wye just below the top institutions.

It describes the Royal Agricultural College at Cirencester as being composed of too many Hooray Henrys and says studying farming is not cool.

However, graduates are unlikely to find themselves on the dole and typically go into farm management, the ancillary industries, or work in country parks.
