Haskinss dream of dairy automation

LORD HASKINS has a vision of milk in the future being produced on a scale that his tankers only have to make one stop to fill up (Haskins off-message for farmers, FWi Open Forum).

This would mean he would not need so many or have to pay as many drivers, or have to deal with all those awful little farmers – very nice!

What he doesn`t seem to grasp is that the cost of a robotic system to milk 100 cows is over 100,000, so to milk thousands, youre talking millions, plus the cost of a zero-grazing of that size.

To finance that, he must be thinking of paying around 1 a litre for his supplies. Doesn`t sound like him, somehow .
