Hotelier quizzed over Prince’s beef
ENVIRONMENTAL health officials have written to Terry Matthews, the owner of the Celtic Manor hotel which served the Prince of Wales beef on the bone on Monday afternoon.
Mr Matthews, said to be a Welsh billionaire, could face up to two years in jail or an unlimited fine if it is found that the, near Newport, broke the ban on beef on the bone.
The hotel has already apologised to Prince Charles and Welsh secretary Alun Michael for serving the meat.
Eddie Fitzpatrick, the hotels head chef, resigned shortly afterwards, although he did not cook the dish.
