Hunting groups seek rights
over mink escape
HUNTIING groups accused environmental authorities of “political correctness” by not calling in the hounds to catch the mink loose in the New Forest, Hampshire.
Members of Hampshire Mink Hounds said flushing them out with dogs was the most effective method.
A 14-strong team from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has been given five days to recapture the 2,500 animals running wild. They have been ordered to win the battle by using humane mink traps.
