Iceland MD moves on
By FWi staff
ICELAND managing director Russell Ford has left the food retailer only four days after the arrival of new chief executive Bill Grimsey.
Mr Grimsey told The Daily Telegraph that he and Mr Ford “had slightly different styles” and that the latter chose to move on.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports that Safeway shares have risen 10.5p to 311p on the back of rumours that the chain had a very successful festive period.
It says “punters gorged themselves” on news that Safeway executives will host a drinks party for analysts and investors next Tuesday (16 January).
On the same date, Safeway will issue its Christmas trading statement, and the Mail reasons that you dont throw a party to celebrate bad figures.
