AFTER second cut is an ideal time to establish clover, says SAC grassland specialist Johnny Bax.

Lightly harrow to establish a seed-bed, broadcast clover at 3-4kg/ha then use a roller to press in the seed. Conditions for establishment should be ideal, but if it does not take, then only seed and time cost will have been lost, he says.
