&#8226 MORE than half the people who are asked do not want to buy or eat genetically engineered foods, according to a report released this week by environmental campaign group Friends of the Earth.

Its survey found that people were opposed to GM products on moral, health and environmental grounds, preferring to trust scientists rather than government, retailers and industry on information about biotechnology.
