• PARALLEL imports of pesticides for independent companies to resell to farmers topped 433,000 litres of liquid formulations and 43t of dry formulations between April and June, reports the Pesticides Safety Directorate. Over 130 batches were approved for import. Similar data will be reported each quarter, but will not include own-use imports.
• A NEW interactive web page has been launched on the Internet by plant breeder Semundo to provide a forum for views, comments and questions on GM crops. Address is www.semundo.co.uk The company itself is involved in the technology, evaluating a range of varieties in the UK this season. *
