FEWER working parts and most fitted internally make the Universal Lean Machine pig feeders suitable for indoor or outdoor pigs, according to Newsham Hybrid Pigs.

Control of feed delivery is now adjusted from inside the Lean Machine using a sliding mechanism which allows meal or pellets to be delivered when the nudge bar is pressed by a pig. This is said to make the nudge bar move freely, helping younger pigs to feed more easily.

Newsham adds that the feeder – which can be adjusted to suit weaners, finishers and sows – holds 53kg of feed and includes a wetter to moisten feed, encouraging intakes.
