Indian cotton farmers commit suicide
MORE than 100 cotton farmers in southern India have killed themselves in the
past month. The suicides come in the wake of crop failures because of
devastation by caterpillars, leading to poverty and indebtedness.
The Government has not given farmers any help and cynicism has greeted
promises of aid in the future.
