Indian peasants to lobby UK Parliament
MORE than 500 Indian peasant farmers are set to lobby the Houses of Parliament to draw attention to claims that their livelihoods are being damaged by big business.
The farmers claim multinational companies and banks are ruining Indian agriculture through corporate greed, international debt and free market policies.
The Inter Continental Caravans three days in Britain will also include protests at the headquarters of genetic engineering companies and financial institutions.
The organisation plans similar demonstrations in Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.
