Jobs at risk from climate tax
GOVERNMENT plans to introduce a climate change levy next year could mean 10,000 jobs would go in the horticultural sector, according to evidence presented to a parliamentary committee.
Farming leaders told the committee that growers of plants and flowers in heated greenhouses would be worse affected by the taxation plans. But others would also be hit by the measure.
The climate change levy is designed to cut emission of carbon dioxide.
