Kwik Save boss goes in shake-up
KWIK Save managing director Simon Hughes has left after only four months in the job, reports The Daily Telegraph.
A spokesperson for Somerfield, which owns Kwik Save, said the departure was by mutual consent and that the company needed new blood.
Group buying and supply chain director Ed Connolly has also left.
The Times says analysts had expected a shake up since struggling Somerfield last month scrapped its final dividend.
Mr Hughes will be replaced by Graham Maguire, retail director of T&S Stores.
Meanwhile, Wal-Mart, which owns Asda in the UK, saw shares fall by 7% on Wednesday (09 August) after it announced three-quarter profits would be less than forecast.
