Less fatigue with new verge mower

MID-MOUNTED verge mowers can be difficult to fit to tractors with low-slung fuel tanks, 4WD drive shafts and wide cab steps, reasons Spearhead.

The company now supplies a rear-mounted machine which has a power arm which can be hydraulically extended alongside the tractor cab.

This arrangement is claimed to improve visibility of the flail head and reduce operator fatigue.

Called the Highway 6000, the power arm is controlled by a rocker switch, with the system incorporating a parallel linkage to help maintain a required flail head angle. Protection is afforded by a breakaway unit.

When operated with the companys Autopilot flail head levelling system, Spearhead claims the machine is capable of workrates up to 47 miles/day.

Price is £18,145. &#42
