Limousin bidding reaches 4000gns
THE fourth production sale from the Staveley Limousin herd of William Bedell, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, saw bidding reach 4000gns for the 1997-bred Staveley Nora.
By the successful sire Honneur and out of a Broadmeadows Cannon dam, Nora has a beef value of 21, which puts her in the breeds top 25%. Buyer was Mrs P M Varley, Bradford.
Noras February-born heifer calf by Djerk looked an exciting prospect and made 1200gns to an undisclosed bidder.
The herds second highest price of 2000gns was also paid by an anonymous buyer to secure Staveley Nina. Her bull calf by Hydesville Vandal went at 1000gns.
Averages: Staveley – seven cows and heifers £2212 (Harrison and Hetherington). *
