Limousins make most at multi-breed fixture

LIMOUSIN bulls averaged £2520 apiece and included the days top price of 3700gns at the multi-breed fixture at the Aberdeen Spring Show and Sale.

Crownhead Marquis, from Mr and Mrs K Burnell, Inverurie, finished on top after taking the reserve championship. Buyers were A and C Morrison, Inverurie. Close behind at 3600gns was the breed champion Roepark Midas from S Brown, Brechin. He stays in Aberdeenshire with C Neish and Sons.

Aberdeen-Angus bulls achieved their best average for many years when six bulls levelled at £2660. Top call was 3600gns given by M Lockhead, Banchory for the champion bull Harry of Forest Mill from Messrs Jamieson, Stone-haven.

Charolais sires peaked at 3300gns when the champion, the Lochar Explosion son Blelack Millar from Neil Massie sold to R Flett and Co, Orkney. The seven Charolais bulls averaged £2415. (Aberdeen and Northern Marts)
