Local polls on hunting?

THE Government is said to be considering the idea of holding local polls to determine whether foxhunting should be banned in individual areas.

Mr Jack Straw, the home secretary, is sounding out MPs about the idea, according to The Guardian today (Monday).

One major point of contention is whether the ballots should be based on opting in or opting out of a nationwide ban.

There are also discussion taking place on the size of the area covered by the poll.
