Locals save Orkney creamery
THE futures of Orkney Island Cheddar at Kirkwall Creamery and 100 jobs have been secured after a local consortium bought the business from Express Dairies.
TheFinancial Times reports that the award-winning cheese maker will now be owned by a group made up from 26 Orkney farmers, Orkney Islands Council and cheese company A McLelland and Son.
