Mad Starlings are not connected with BSE
By FWI Staff
A MYSTERY brain disease killing young Starlings is not connected with BSE, experts insist.
Affected birds suffer severe brain inflammation, spin around in circles, and lose control of their legs before dying reports The Daily Telegraph.
Tom Pennycott of the Scottish Agricultural Colleges veterinary centre near Ayr, said antibiotics had failed to help newly fledged birds which fall victim to the disease.
However, he stressed there is no connection with BSE in cattle, as the brain damage was totally different.
