Make superstores farmers’ markets — Monbiot


BRITAINS supermarket chains have such a stranglehold on the production and distribution of food in the UK that their monopoly should be broken up, according to George Monbiot.

The environmental campaigner, writing in The Guardian, says the government should close many of them down or should wrest then from the hands of the companies that built them to house farmers markets.
