Manitou unveils compact model

MANITOU has introduced the Compact Maniscopic telehandler which, by designation, offers a low cab height and narrow wheelbase.

The MLT 526 Compact range comprises two models, one with a cab height of 2.06m and the other 2.22m. But both are just 2m wide.

Power comes from a rear mounted, turbocharged 106hp Perkins engine which transmits drive through a mechanically operated 4Fx4R torque converter transmission.

Aimed at the stock farmer/ smaller grower market, the 526 has a lift capacity and lift height rated at 2.6t and 5.15m, respectively. Manitou says it has achieved this despite employing the now normal low boom pivot point.

A compact build has apparently not compromised ground clearance significantly. The 526 has an underbelly clearance of 36cm, which its maker claims allows operation in testing conditions.

Further specification includes a longer 4.39m chassis, all round drum brakes and Clarkhurst axles. &#42
