McConnel adds to hedge cutter spec and looks

BEAUTY treatment and higher specification have been applied to McConnels latest Power Arm 50 Hy-Reach hedge cutter.

Retaining the same 5m reach as the PA93 model it replaces, the new model mirrors the build of the PA550 and 650 models with their stylish rear covers providing easy access for maintenance.

Available with a semi-independent or totally independent hydraulic system with rotor rotation, the PA50 is fitted with cast iron Hy-Power pumps and motors.

These are claimed to supply greater hydraulic power to the flailhead for heavy-duty hedge cutting and grass mowing where extra torque is needed.

An improved three-point linkage mounting system is designed to bring the hedge cutter closer to provide easier and safer attachment.

McConnel says the PA50 is suitable for tractors over 65hp and 3500kg.

A key specification, says McConnel, is the addition of a Power Slew which can position the flailhead behind the tractor to achieve a compact transport width. The Power Slew is also claimed to be capable of moving the flail head into awkward corners and enable a breakaway angle of 95í using hydraulic auto-reset.

Fitted with parallel geometry, the arm is mounted on rocker pillar angled to bring the flailhead closer to the tractor.

Flailhead choice includes a 1.2m Supercut or a 1.5m Super Multicut, together with a heavy-duty sliding 1.2m Multicut version. Price of the PA50 Hy-Reach is £11,325. &#42
