Merger makes it Williams, Watkins & Richards

THREE of Britains most successful agricultural property and livestock auctioneering businesses are to merge, it has been announced.

Hertfordshire-based RG & RB Williams and Gwilym Richards, with offices in Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire and London, are to amalgamate with Williams & Watkins, which operates Ross Auction Centre.

The new business will be called Williams, Watkins & Richards.

“All of us have done extraordinarily well independently, but this is still a sensible move for us,” said partner Richard Williams of RG & RB Williams.

“The consolidation will ensure that we have greater strength in a very competitive and demanding marketplace.

“Farming itself is changing rapidly and those of us in professions allied to the industry need to change too, to meet the needs of present and future generations of landowners and tenants in a more cost-effective way.”
