Milk Link members back processing plans

DAIRY co-op Milk Link is a step closer to becoming a dairy processor, after members approved a scheme to raise funds.

Over 90% of the co-ops members signed a Financial Support Agreement, allowing it to go ahead with investments in dairy processing plants.

Chief executive Barry Nicholls said: “We were aiming for a 90% take up, so were extremely pleased to have reached this target.”

According to the co-op this response is an overwhelming endorsement of its plans, which aim to improve returns to members by capturing added value by processing milk.
