Minister challenged on minimum wage
THE first victims of a £3.60 minimum wage would be people in the farming
industry, according to Scottish Conservative Party chairman Raymond Robertson.
He has challenged the Governments minimum wage policy, which he claimed in a
letter to Scottish agriculture minister Lord Sewel was a threat to rural jobs. He said farm workers would be the first to lose their jobs as landowners struggled to make a livelihood out of agriculture.
