BESIDES the questions raised in the Opinion piece on this page, there are other, technical queries that will have to be answered.

How will each animal be identified, who will ensure that each ID is unique – and will that ID be unqiue within the UK or world?

How long will data be kept after the animals demise?

Will the Internet feature in electronic data gathering, and what hardware and software will farmers need?

I am always on the look-out for new ideas in PC and handheld hardware and software.
