Mutton meat fit for a Prince

PRINCE CHARLES is to promote mutton as a great British dish in an attempt to return it to its former popularity, reports The Times.

The Prince will endorse the dish at the country‘s first festival of mutton to be held at a launch, for invited patrons only, at the Ritz hotel, London, on Thur (Nov 11).

The popularity of mutton has declined since the Second World War when rationing and a fall in wool prices lead to a decline in the number of older ewes on the market.

The Prince hopes increased demand for mutton could boost the income of family farms by at least £100m a year, reports the paper.
