No progress in west

PAUL CRUMPS, of Shropshire Grain says, “farmers are chomping at the bit to get started again.”

Localised showers have stopped progress for about a week. He has no concerns about the quality of the harvest at the moment, “but if there is no progress in 10 days it could have a bearing.”

Some of the winter barley crop is still not quite fit and only very early wheat and spring barley has been combined.
