Nobel man called

STANLEY Prusiner, winner of the 1997 Nobel prize for medicine, is to give evidence at the BSE inquiry.

Prof Prusiner was the first to identify the existence of prions, which many believe are responsible for the transmission of BSE. The American scientist will appear before the inquiry on Sat, June 6.
