NPA waits for Brussels on exit scheme
By Simon Wragg
NATIONAL Pig Association officials are hoping to get consent from the EU Commission for proposed changes to the industrys restructuring scheme which aims to help those producers getting out of pigs.
One successful change has been to get the window for applications cut from six down to three months.
That will allow producers to get aid payments quicker, says the association.
In a separate move, sponsorship from MAFF, MLC and Asda has been secured to fund a number of training sessions this summer.
The aim is to inform producers on how to manage elements of risk, such as price volatility, to help manage their businesses in future.
Producers wishing to take part should contact the NPAs head office on 020 7331 7650.
