Off-label support
VITAL support for the Specific Off-Label Approval programme for pesticides will continue in 1999, says the HDC.
That backing, which since 1993 has run to over £1.5m, is essential to help HDC grower members produce top quality crops by controlling weeds, pests and diseases, says chief executive, Martin Beckenham.
"As manufacturers come under increased financial pressure to reduce support for less cost-effective on-label applications, this funding becomes even more essential." Without it many products could disappear from growers armouries, he says. *
