A SHEPHERD has had a hole drilled in his false teeth so that he can whistle commands to his dogs, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Ronnie Collins, 79, of Bingley, West Yorkshire, was unable to communicate with his dogs after being fitted with new dentures.

But having a hole drilled between his front two teeth allowed him to whistle again.

The success of the unorthodox dental work proved clear when Mr Collins went on to fulfill a lifetimes ambition.

He won the 2000 International Sheepdog Society Supreme Championship, in Penrith, Cumbria, with his dog Bob.
