MEDICAL and legal experts are to meet farmers who believe they have been poisoned by sheep dip. The first national conference on organophosphate poisoning takes place at Gregynog, Newtown, Powys, on Thursday (May 2). It is organised by the Institute of Rural Health and OPUS, a charity that supports people suffering from OP exposure. &#42

Speakers include pharmacologists and toxicologists, occupational and environmental health specialists and a leading barrister. Topics also include the effects of organophosphates on child development and the brain. A doctor and a solicitor will lead group sessions dealing with diagnosis and treatment of OP poisoning.
