Opico unveils beet cultivator
A RANGE of sugar beet inter-row cultivators was unveiled by Opico at the LAMMA Show.
Front or rear mounted, the cultivators come in six, 12 and 18 row builds. They also feature a steering system for accurate row following that comprises guidance discs, or wheels on front mounted models, connected via track rods to a pivoting top link.
Attached to a "specially" designed toolbar, the cultivation units can be adjusted for different row widths using a locking clamp.
To achieve an accurate and even working depth, heavy duty parallelograms enable the units to follow ground contours on individual depth wheels.
An individual depth control adjuster handle is provided for each unit, and each row assembly employs three spring tines.
Prices for a six-row rear mounted rigid unit starts at £3620 and £12,733 for the hydraulic folding 18-row front mounted model. *
