Organic milk supply for hospital

PATIENTS AT a County Durham hospital are to be the first in the country to be supplied with organic milk, according to the Soil Association.

A spokesman for the organisation said about 5000 pints of organic milk from Darlington-based Acorn Dairy will be delivered each week by producer/processor, Gordon Tweddle.

The move follows a two-month trial period at the hospital, in which patients claimed they could pick out a difference in the taste of the organic product.
