Orthopaedic cow shoes are potential winner

AN orthopaedic shoe for dairy cows is one of the inventions cited by the Design Council as a potential winner of the millennium product award.

It is a non-slip, recycled PVC foot-cover for lame cows that has quickened recovery and improved milk production.

Giltspur Scientific, of Northern Ireland, makes the shoe at a cost of £19-25 for a box of four and £40-45 for 10.
