OTMS papers warning
CATTLE presented to the over 30-months scheme must have the correct documentation with them to ensure payment, urges NFU Scotland.
It says that in a number of recent cases producers have entered cattle for the OTMS without proper paperwork, particularly those born or imported between July 1, 1996 and Sept 27, 1998.
These have been presented with old-style blue-green passports, but no COR – the certificate of registration with the Cattle Tracing Scheme, said a union official. But OTMS compensation will only be paid when these cattle are accompanied by an old-style passport (CPP1) and COR or a new chequebook-style passport (CPP13).
All animals born or imported after Sept 28, 1998, must be accompanied by a chequebook-style passport. *
