Paddle mix diet feeders line up
DIET feeders, as in the UK, are now big business in Ireland.
Tullow Farm Machinery displayed its paddle mix machines which feature hydraulically retractable knives in its base – enabling mixing to continue without further chopping of material.
Two models, offering capacities of 10cu m and 14cu m are available, each equipped with digital weighing systems and hydraulic feed out. Tullow says a power requirement of about 80hp is sufficient.
Price of the 10cu m model is £14,350 while the larger version is I£16,410. An electronic weighing system adds a further £2420.
Also built with removable knives are Red Rocks new diet feeders. But these knives are under individual manual control which effectively limits its versatility to blade replacement, blade sharpening or, if required, blade removal.
Even so, the 12 and 16 cu m paddle mixing models on offer are equipped with an auger which is not only used to discharge the mixed feed, but also to assist with the mixing once the hopper is about a third full.
Both front and rear discharge units are available, and weighing systems are included in the specification. Price of a 12cu m version with front discharge, is £18,866 (Irish).
